Due to increases in cost of living the Social Security agency announced they would increase benefits to those that receive disability and SSI benefits.  These benefits actually increase every year in conjunction with a rise in the Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Price Index for urban wage earners and clerical workers.  This year’s increase is 3.3%.  These new changes will begin for disability beneficiaries in January 2007 and for SSI beneficiaries on December 29th, 2006.
